GPS Florida In The US Club Soccer Southwest Regionals

June 26th 2015, Orlando, FL: GPS Florida began their inaugural summer program this year and their first competitive tournament was the high profile US Club Soccer Southwest Regional tournament in Greensboro, NC.

The GPS Florida Elite ID program is aimed at players from Ponte Vedra SC, FC America, Maitland SC, Hunters Creek SC and Florida Knights SC, who excel during training and competitive play and who go above and beyond in their training, commitment to the game and desire to maximize their full potential. The goal of the GPS Florida Elite ID program is for players to become a bigger part of the GPS FC Bayern National Team program.

The program took 6 teams to the tournament at the prestigious Bryan Park facility. Maitland Soccer Club Executive Director and GPS Florida U12 Boys Head Coach was very happy with the weekends performances, “All the teams put in a tremendous effort over the weekend and learned some important lessons over the weekend. It was a jump up in levels of quality for some players and they met the challenge head on. This program is only going to go from strength to strength and we look forward to seeing how our teams can show their short-term improvement at the Disney International tournament next month.”

DSCN1852GPS Florida were not the only team from the Global Premier Soccer family to attend the tournament as teams from GPS Georgia and GPS Carolina also attended. It was great to see those teams and coaches and it reinforced the size and strength of GPS up and down the East Coast.

The GPS Florida summer program continues with training weekends and will end with all the teams competing in the Disney International tournament in July.
