Bayern selects GPS as its exclusive North American Youth Partner

December 1st, Waltham, MA, 2014; GPS is pleased to announce that Sebastian Dremmler and Jürgen Jung of FC Bayern Munich will be visiting GPS-MA and GPS-ME this week.

The visit of FC Bayern coaches is the first of many, as part of the partnership launched last month between GPS and the German giants. Dremmler and Young will present to GPS coaches on the structure and philosophy of the FC Bayern Youth Academy and will be running clinics for select GPS-MA and GPS-ME teams, which GPS coaches will attend.

“The partnership with FC Bayern facilitates real know-how transfer to the GPS coaching staff from one of the leading player development academies in the World,” said Joe Bradley, CEO of GPS. “The fact we have FC Bayern coaches on the ground so early in the agreement, speaks volumes for their commitment to the success of the partnership,” said Bradley.

Dremmler (38) has worked in the FC Bayern Junior teams since 1997. He is currently coach of the U16 FC Bayern squad which is plays in the Bavarian U17 league. Additionally, he is the coordinator for all game operations for the FC Bayern Junior teams.

Jung, also 38, grew up playing in the youth teams of FC Bayern before becoming a coach. For ten years, he was youth coordinator and head of the junior performance center at rivals 1860 Munich before he took over the position of the chief scout of the junior teams of FC Bayern in March 2012.

The arrival of the FC Bayern coaches follows hot on the heels of the visit by GPS Executive Staff to Germany. The staff watched FC Bayern Male and Female teams in action and met with senior officials on the FC Bayern Youth system. The highlight of the trip was meeting FC Bayern Head Coach, Pep Guardiola and seeing the first team in defeat Hoffenheim 4-0 at the packed-out Allianz Arena.
